Operaen i Kristiansund
Operaen i Kristiansund has something to offer everyone! Whether you like film, theatre, music, dance or the visual arts, you are sure to find something for you in this fantastic art form. Opera is like the different genres within music (jazz, rock, folk music etc.) – they all have a wide range.
If you compare different operas you will quickly discover how much variety there is out there: from the trilling ornaments of Baroque opera to the overwhelming dramatic effects of Wagner – in any case, a really good production will take you by storm.
As a Canadian opera director has said: "Opera should engage you and take you to a point where you see with your ears and listen with your eyes. You become so overwhelmingly involved in what is going on that in the end you are not aware of where one sense ends and the other takes over."
