Bergen Nasjonale Opera produces opera at a high international level. As an ambitious and flexible opera company, we are constantly searching for the most imaginative artists who can give us a fresh look at the operatic repertoire. We place emphasis on presenting important and exciting operas that have not previously been staged in Norway, together with an extensive programme for children and young people.
Our artistic teams combine long international experience with artistic renewal, and in our choice of soloists we pair young Nordic talents with established singers. We are also strongly committed to developing the opera artists of the future through specialised academies and by offering engagements in our productions.
Together with our permanent collaboration partners Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester and Edvard Grieg Korene, we receive ever-increasing national and international attention for the originality and quality of our productions.
