Oslo Quartet Series - Kvartettserien is a concert promoter which since its start in 2012 has had both international and national string quartets on stage and has worked to bring the quartet's fantastic repertoire and ensemble form to a broad audience. World-leading quartets such as the Hagen Quartet, Tetzlaff Quartet and Artemis Quartet have already visited Oslo Quartet Series in previous concert seasons. Three of Norway's most prominent string quartets, Engegårdkvartetten, Oslo Strykekvartett and Vertavo, are resident string quartets for the concert series, and three of their members make up the series' artistic council. The concert series wishes to provide a concert framework that conveys the artistic content in an innovative way. Each concert has an overarching theme in which the evening's musical programme is presented in a broader context, and the usual concert form is stretched to include unusual and inspiring elements. Contributors such as social commentators, historians, actors and dancers are invited to convey the content of the music from their own perspective. In this way we wish to create connections between different cultural fields and give audiences a unique concert experience.
