Description

Anders and Benjamin's musical collaboration stretches back many years and moves in the borderland between classical and jazz with strong rhythmic tracks. Anders Koppel is one of Denmark's most versatile and productive composers and musicians. He was a co-founder of Savage Rose, where his characteristic organ playing became a central hallmark. Later he became a prominent figure on the Danish world music scene as a member of Bazaar. Benjamin Koppel we know as an outstanding saxophonist and as the author of, among other things, Annas sang – which he helped give musical form in the Book Concert: Annas sang in the summer of 2025. After the interval we will hear Dvořák's 9th symphony, which he wrote during his stay in the USA, inspired by American folk music and spirituals. The work was premiered in 1893 at Carnegie Hall and immediately aroused enthusiasm. Duration: approx. 2 hours, incl. interval Programme: Anders Koppel: Concerto for violin and saxophone A. Dvořák: Symphony No. 9, From the New World
