ANDERS KOPPEL TURNS 80

Description

Anders Koppel, the doyen and 'grand old man' of one of Denmark's most distinctive musical and cultural dynasties, turns 80. We celebrate with a magnificent birthday concert in which OS, among other things, gives the world premiere of the still tirelessly industrious composer and musician's brand-new concerto for two pianos, with the Danish pianists Kristoffer Hyldig and Rikke Sandberg at the keyboards. In addition, Anders's son, the saxophone legend Benjamin Koppel, takes part as soloist in his father's Saxophone Concerto No. 2 - and the concert is of course opened by a veritable festive overture composed by the birthday boy himself. Programme: Anders Koppel: Festive Overture Anders Koppel: Concerto for 2 pianos (world premiere) Anders Koppel: Concerto for Hammond organ and saxophone
