John Williams

Description

Adventure, nostalgia and symphonic magic. We celebrate John Williams's 95th birthday with the music that taught us to dream and to believe in adventure. Few composers have shaped our imagination like John Williams. His music has become the very sound of film history: from the war of the stars and the return of the dinosaurs to sorcerer's apprentices, shark attacks and the hunt for lost treasure. With unforgettable themes and symphonic exuberance, Williams has created music that does not merely accompany the stories - but lifts them to mythical heights. On the occasion of the composer's 95th birthday, Aarhus Symfoniorkester invites you to a magnificent tribute concert with some of the most beloved film themes ever written. Along the way, Jakob Stegelmann guides the audience through John Williams's universe of brave souls, adventures and iconic moments. It will be an evening full of recognition, shivers down the spine and the special symphonic power that only John Williams commands. The concert is the second in a new series of film music concerts, gathered under the common name Beyond the Screen, offering unfiltered enjoyment of cinematic sound - without a screen or other distractions.
