Københavns Klarinettrio was formed in the summer of 2020. The ensemble consists of the principal clarinettist of Livgardens Musikkorps, Frederik von Würden, the principal cellist of Cph Phil, Theodor Lyngstad, and the concert pianist Petya Hristova. With backgrounds in Norway, Bulgaria and Denmark and studies in Russia, Germany, the USA, Norway and Denmark, the trio has great experience and international capacity. Københavns Klarinettrio gave its debut concert in Koncertkirken in Nørrebro in September 2020 with great success and a full house. The trio plays a broad repertoire ranging from the core repertoire of Brahms and Beethoven to new music by Per Nørgaard and Jörg Widmann. The trio has commissioned a new work by the Danish composer Martin Stauning for its premiere in the spring of 2022. Københavns Klarinettrio is a versatile ensemble and plays repertoire both for the 3 instruments, but also mixes across the board. In this way the trio wishes to show the diversity of chamber music and the great range of the instruments.
