Messiaen Quartet Copenhagen
MQC is a newly started ensemble based in Copenhagen consisting of violinist Malin William-Olsson, cellist Carl-Oscar Østerlind, pianist Kristoffer Hyldig and clarinettist Viktor Wennesz . The members have, both together and individually, many years of experience of chamber music at an international level. Besides going in depth with the existing works for the ensemble's line-up, they will explore and challenge the rest of the repertoire and create concert programmes that set the music of different eras and the different instrument combinations the quartet contains against one another. A concert with the ensemble therefore offers solo performances, intense chamber music and orchestral arrangements.
MQC has already been broadcast by DR in the P2-koncerten and has played at Tivoli's Pinsefestival with the internationally acclaimed star violinist Ray Chen. In addition, in 2018 the ensemble has concerts at, among others, Østerbro Koncertforening, Varde Musikforening, Espergærde Musikforening, Haderslev Musikforening, at Bornholms Musikfestival, Fejø Festival, Ny Musik i Birkerød and at the Søbygaardkoncerterne on Ærø.
