Ahoy, all you concertgoers - August is here to give you his recommendations!
Hello everyone! My name is August Finkas, and I am principal clarinet of Copenhagen Phil. I love playing in an orchestra, and I love the clarinet. Playing in an orchestra gives me this team spirit/sense of unity, where we create something far greater than what one can create alone. The aspect of chamber music and the creation of sounds, chords, nuances gets even better when you have such lovely colleagues as I am lucky enough to have 🙏
The reason I love the clarinet so much is... well, who doesn't like the clarinet? How can you not love it!? The beautiful, tender, voice-like sound, the flexibility - and I could go on.
🔥 12 May at 19:30 DR Koncerthuset - Mozart's Clarinet Concerto.
This evening Det Danske National Symphony Orchestra plays Prokofiev's Symphony No. 6 and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with their own principal clarinet, Johnny Teyssier, as soloist. Johnny's natural way of playing and ease is something you really don't want to miss! He is a fantastic clarinettist, and I'm sure he will make Mozart's Clarinet Concerto even better! Be there - I will be! 😃
Another concert you really don't want to miss is this one:
🔥27 August at 17:00 Tivolis Koncertsal - Copland's Clarinet Concerto with Martin Fröst.
Copenhagen Phil will play Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3 and Copland's wonderful and jazzy clarinet concerto! Martin Fröst will both conduct and play as soloist in this concert. I don't think Martin Fröst needs any further introduction. In short; he is the Lionel Messi of the clarinet 💥 I will be playing myself at this concert and I look forward to seeing you there! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I will!
