DKDM's Conducting Seminar

Description

Meet tomorrow's master conductors as the talents conduct Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester. Conducting a symphony orchestra is an art. It is not something you just do - it requires technique, musicality and leadership. And above all, it requires experience. That is why it is crucial that young conducting students from Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium get the chance to work with a professional symphony orchestra as part of their education. At Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester this learning is given high priority. Every year conducting seminars are held, where young talents get the chance to stand in front of the orchestra and develop their conducting skills. Free concert. Under the guidance of experienced conductors, they hone their technique, work on musical expression and learn to communicate precisely with the musicians - all elements that are decisive for a conductor's success. The seminar ends with a concert - you could call it an open rehearsal - where the audience is invited in to watch the young conductors in action. It offers a rare insight into the conductor's work - how they shape the music, react to the orchestra and fine-tune every single detail. Programme: Stravinsky / Dumbarton Oaks Tchaikovsky / Serenade for Strings No. 48 Mozart / Symphony No. 39
