Another week of wonderful recommendations is on its way to you, and this time Tony Tuan-Anh Nguyen says hello! 🎵
“Hello classical music lovers! My name is Tony Nguyen and I am a pianist currently studying at the music conservatoire in Aarhus. I have a great passion and love especially for chamber music. I love it so much that I started organising a chamber music festival in my home town of Aarhus – Aarhus kammermusikfestival, which will now take place for the fourth time in September
💬 I have had the pleasure of picking out some concerts for you that I think could be really worth attending! But honestly, I just want to say: go to all of them right now!
🐣 9 February - DR Vokalensemblet (Grundtvigs Kirke)
After a choir concert I always admit to myself and ask: WHY don’t I go to this more often? It is fantastic! For me the human voice is the purest instrument I can think of, and it has such an ability to always move me. Treat yourself to this exciting French programme in the beautiful Grundtvigs Kirke!
🪄 9 February - Randers Kammerorkester (Harpen)
Same day, same time, but in the other part of Denmark, Randers Kammerorkester has prepared a concert focusing on one of my absolute favourite instruments – the harp! They are giving the premiere of a new harp concerto by Anders Koppel. Your ears deserve this!
🤍 11 February - Aarhus Symfoniorkester: Wagner, Mahler & Elgar
I really have a weakness for late Romantic music by English composers. Elgar’s symphonies are not performed very often, and I am really looking forward to hearing this underrated masterpiece. Tragic melodies and heart-rending harmonies. I love it.
💫 17 and 18 March - DR Symfoniorkestret: Mahler’s Symphony No. 2
I have heard this piece so many times, but only once live. This will be an experience you will probably not forget. It is just going to be so epic. There are only a few tickets left, so give yourself that experience and do not hesitate to miss out on this concert!
