Nye Flåklypa

Description

Ola Kvernberg composed the film music for Nye Flåklypa – Fra Paris til Pyramidene. This autumn he won the Amanda Award for best original score for this film music! He is also nominated for the Nordic Council Music Prize in October. That makes it extra special to blow the music out of the cinema hall and into the band with the premiere of NYE FLÅKLYPA – Suite for concert band. Just like Aukrust's stories, Kvernberg's Flåklypa universe is eclectic by nature – a shameless mix of symphonic film music. Funk, folk music, Viennese waltz and jazz. Although the suite is written especially for concert band, the premiere gets an extra spark; the composer himself joins in on the fiddle as soloist! The concert is conducted by Peter Szilvay.
