Description
The timpani and the orchestra burst forth in music full of raw energy and power. From Philip Glass' pulsating sonorities to Roussel's richly coloured symphony, the hall is filled with the orchestra's most explosive expression. Are you into the most colourful, powerful music? Experience the orchestra's most potent instruments as we put the timpani in the front row. Glass' concerto for two timpani and orchestra is an unrivalled display of energy - red-hot with sap and power. Roussel's Third Symphony is a lavish orgy of colour, in which the composer slaps colours onto the orchestra's canvas with emphatic brushstrokes. Together it makes a concert where you can experience the orchestra's colossal power fill Symfonisk Sal to bursting point. The after-work concert is a breathing space of a little under an hour, where you can let go of the everyday and recharge for the rest of the week with one or more symphonic masterpieces. The concert opens with a short introduction from the stage. Immersion and undivided enthusiasm are encouraged. Beer, wine and water can be purchased. Programme: Philip Glass / Concerto Fantasy for Two Timpanists and Orchestra (Danish premiere) Albert Roussel / Symphony No. 3, 1st, 3rd and 4th movements
