Odense Barokensemble
Odense Barokensemble/Barokorkester came into being in 2016 together with Odense Barokfestival, with the aim of playing the music of the 1600s and 1700s on original instruments and according to "authentic" performance practice or "historically informed practice, HIP".
Odense Barokensemble/Barokorkester has a permanently affiliated core, which can add strings, winds and percussion depending on the programme. All those affiliated are professional musicians specialising in early music.
The ensemble/orchestra plays regularly at at least one of Odense Barokfestival's concerts in September, as well as at the Easter and Christmas concerts. It is led from the harpsichord by the harpsichordist and musical director Babett Hartmann.
