Ensemble barocca cultivates – as the ensemble's name suggests – the repertoire of the Baroque, i.e. from around 1600-1750, a period in which some of the greatest composers of classical music were active, a time when glorious music full of juice and vigour was composed. The ensemble was established in 2014 in connection with studies in early music at DKDM in Copenhagen. The ensemble's members have broad chamber music experience and take particular passion in Baroque music played on original instruments. The ensemble is thus part of the music movement that seeks authentic performance practice in relation to, among other things, tuning, tempi, bowing and phrasing. Ensemble Barocca plays concerts with an enthusiastic presence, both among themselves and in their communication with the audience, and talks about the music along the way. The ensemble and its members are the driving force behind Odense Barokfestival. Ensemble Barocca consists of: Christine Nonbo Andersen, soprano, Tinne Albrectsen, Baroque violin, Maria Rosenkilde Qvist, Baroque cello and Ruben Munk, harpsichord.
