Via Artis Konsort
Via Artis Konsort was formed in 2006 as an early music ensemble, and has since played a good 400 concerts in Denmark and abroad, including Cuba, Spain, Belgium, the Faroe Islands, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. The ensemble is officially based in Odense.
Via Artis Konsort tours with set concert programmes, but often enters into various forms of collaboration with choirs, soloists, composers, performing artists and institutions. The ensemble plays with a fixed core of professional concert musicians from Denmark and abroad. The number of participating musicians varies from programme to programme, and the ensemble is often joined by artists from other genres, e.g. actors or dancers.
The ensemble's activities range widely, from concerts of early classical music and world music, through music drama, to site-responsive sound installations and performances. Via Artis Konsort plays medieval music, Baroque music and brand-new compositions with the same enthusiasm and musical thoroughness. The ensemble is deeply immersed in our shared European cultural heritage and is passionate about exposing the soul of European music - in new, contemporary formats for a broad and always curious audience.
Via Artis' concerts have several times been broadcast on the radio, including on the national classical radio channels in Belgium, Spain, Germany and Denmark.
