Den Danske Sinfonietta
Den Danske Sinfonietta is an independent, professional chamber orchestra based in Copenhagen. The orchestra has a core line-up of 10-12 musicians, with the option of reducing or expanding as required.
Den Danske Sinfonietta works with new orchestrations of traditional classical works, opera, operetta and film music. Occasionally it also plays repertoire from the Danish song heritage, musicals, and jazz and popular classics in new orchestral arrangements and in collaboration with a choir or soloist.
The orchestra addresses a broad audience, with a focus on communicating and spreading the joy of classically based music - both for connoisseurs and for audiences unaccustomed to classical music. The latter is supported by targeted projects for the younger generation and a high priority on outreach concerts.
