DR Pigekoret

Go to website
Since its founding in 1938 the sound of DR Pigekoret has been a familiar soundscape in Danes' lives – from regular TV and radio appearances in everyday life to festive occasions such as New Year's Eve, when hundreds of thousands of Danes sing in the new year together with the choir. The common thread in DR Pigekoret's work is Danish song in all its shades, and the girls move freely between hymns, folk high school songs, modern compositions, pop songs and community singing. It takes discipline and musical talent to be a singer in DR Pigekoret, but above all the choir is a community of young girls who stand together in the task of strengthening classical equal-voice choral singing and the Danish song heritage.
